Our fabulous wordsmith Martina, who researches and writes our feature articles and blog posts, is currently recovering from surgery. Fortunately she is recovering well and will return shortly. If you are a regular reader here, please wish her well in a comment. I'm sure she would like to see it.
In the meantime, we will post a short video about Oxford Learning and highlight some podcasts and videocasts you might enjoy.

I am looking to invest in opening a school that can help children with ADHD & ADD like my son. I am looking for an acedemic program that is more computer assisted in teaching than a personal teacher/ classroom approach. Maybe a 60%/40% split of the days lesson plan. My son attends a private school that promised to teach my son how to learn with ADHD issues at hand. I have yet seen a lot of change with his acedemics. I often tell my wife the first thing the school should do is analyze how he learns and establish a program that best promotes his learning abilities to stimulate his modivation to learn and to help him retain what he is learning. I think, with todays computer programs, an ADHD school should be able to benefit from software that has been created to help children stay focused on a subject due to computer interaction with activities to help stimulate learning growth. Question. Does your school emphasize the use of computers and if so, what percentage of time in a day will a child use the computer instead of a classroom environment? Question 2, instead of just offering afterschool assistance, does this franchise offer full time student learning accredited to replace public school attendance and are programs geared to a full daily schedule that can be adhered to on a calender year. Question 3, if the second answer is yes, what grade levels are established for a full time school acedemic. We need to provide a better learning program for our son and provide a certified Green Building to do it in.
