Customer Appreciation Day

Every year at the Barrhaven Oxford Learning Center we host a Customer Appreciation Day BBQ for our current and past clients. We felt that it is important to show our appreciation to all the parents who let us help their children throughout the years. It is also a great way to let the community know that we are not only in business to make money, but that we will take the time to be present in the community. We honestly care about what we do and welcome any opportunity to give back.

This year we had some great entertainment come to our event. We had Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo come do a one hour small reptile presentation for the kids. They brought a tarantula, a scorpion, a small alligator, a large turtle and even an anaconda! The Oxford kids swarmed around the presenter and were allowed to touch all animals.

We also had a company called Mad Science of Ottawa come out to put on an interactive presentation, where the kids could touch, smell, taste and participate in all the fun science experiments that the presenter had brought. I kids got a great hands on science lesson without even knowing they were learning at the same time!

Thanks to all of you who attended, and to our staff and many other volunteers. We had another successful BBQ this year! We also managed to raise a couple hundred dollars to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation from donations given by the Oxford families!
