Tutoring Danforth Oxford Learning

We've Been Snap'd!

Educators of the Year, 2011

At Oxford we support every child's unique academic development from preschool to grade 12.

We begin with the administration of a Dynamic Diagnostic Assessment so as to determine each child’s strengths and any area of need.

Once the assessment has been completed, checked, and reviewed we examine his or her report cards from at least the past year. We do this as the insights and thorough comments in such reports prove so very beneficial when designing the specific style and breadth of each child's Oxford planner

Our planners range from foundational or remedial lessons in literacy, numeracy, French and study skills to enrichment.

Each module in every planner has been carefully constructed to teach base skills — these skills are the tools we want our students to transfer to the classroom so that they feel confident, motivated, and happy within each and every classroom dynamic.

For Oxford to be successful communication with the classroom teacher is essential.

Thank-you to every educator who has responded to our emails, phone calls and especially for inviting us to your classrooms. This very special collaboration ensures that we always reach our common goal: to help each child reach their potential.

To all teachers, THANK-YOU!

Educator of the Year 2010

Teachers help us to read and compose ideas, they teach us to add, multiply and divide, they inspire us to accomplish what may seem impossible, they make sense of the world around us, they encourage us to succeed…

To all teachers Thank-you!!

Oxford Learning’s 25th Anniversary!

Oxford Learning has been a part of the Riverdale community for 5 years. During this time, we have worked with thousands of students to help them reach their full potential. We have always been grateful to our families for allowing us to play a pivotal role in their children’s education. For Oxford Learning’s 25th Anniversary we took the opportunity to celebrate and give back to our wonderful parents and students.
Thanks to all of our families and volunteers for making it a fantastic celebration!

Free Study Skills Workshop:
October 3rd 2PM-4PM

The first several weeks of a new school year can be quite hectic for high school students. Not only are they being inundated with the expectations of the curriculum, they are also adjusting to new schedules, teachers and routines. Staying on track and organized during this time can easily be put aside, and before you know it, the first term is over.

That is why we offered our students a free two-hour Study Skills Workshop, on Wednesday September 2nd. Due to popular demand, we will be offering another one on October 3rd, from 2-4.

Areas addressed:

  • Organizational Skills
  • Study Tips
  • How to use your agenda effectively
  • Goal Setting

All spots must be reserved. We look forward to supporting students to reach their highest potential.

GreekTown 2009
Taste of the Danforth

Every year in August, about a million people flock to GreekTown on the Danforth to enjoy the food, the entertainment and the atmosphere! This year, Oxford Learning participated in the famous “Taste of the Danforth” street festival.

The Greater Toronto Area lays claim to more than 200000 residents of Greek ancestry which is the third largest Hellenic community outside of Greece. Each year in August, everyone who comes to the Danforth gets to be Greek for the day.

A special thanks to everyone who dropped in to chat with us! We are really proud to be part of this diverse and unique community.

Little Readers Graduation 2009
Fun in the Park

The Little Readers from the Beaches and the Danforth enjoyed our “Fun in the Park” Day and the Graduation Ceremony. They have all worked hard and we were delighted to celebrate their achievements.

Educator of the Year 2009

As educators, we all work to enhance the lives of the students we work with. We know that each of you work to facilitate the development of analytical skills and provide an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity. You are giving your students the tools to strive for excellence. With the help of committed teachers like you, your students have the ability to reach for the stars. They are growing into capable individuals who can achieve any lofty goals they set for themselves.

You are an inspiration to your students and it is clear that you play a transformational role in their lives.

From all of us at Oxford, we thank you for your continued excellence in education.
