Part-time French Teacher - Whitby, ON

We are looking for an upbeat, dynamic teacher who will seeking a challenging and rewarding teaching environment. Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English. Ideal candidate will be fully bilingual in French and English and have experience working with children. It is important to have a passion for teaching and enjoy working in a learning environment. Applicant will need to have a bachelor’s degree and be prepared to teach both French and English.

This part-time position offers between 6 or more hours of teaching weekly, usually in two after school or Saturday shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Enthusiastic and positive interaction with children within a specific and customized curriculum
• Apply the customized curriculum for each child within his/her unique learning style, likes and interests
• Help children take ownership of their school work and what they are asked to learn and understand
• Communicate progress, status or frustrations to Education Director or Center Director
• Celebrate with the child the successes and the risks taken when met with failure
• NOT expected to develop or design curriculum, meet with parents or grade any work!
