What Parents & Students Are Saying

We are so impressed with your Little Readers Program! We initially scoped out all the local programs offered in our area and chose yours for our eldest son, Kail. Kail has now finished his program and graduated to the next program offered, Beyond Tutoring. The results that we have witnessed were astonishing! Within the first month he started he was already recognizing words! He finished the program at the equivalency of a grade 1-2 level in both math and reading which was beyond what we could ever even imagine for a 6 year old! Now in grade one, his reading and math levels far exceed the standards which has allowed him to develop a tremendous level of confidence and ability to use his problem-solving skills to face any challenge. The solid foundation that he has gained through your program has been the stepping stone for his success. We now have our second son, Jaden in the Little Readers Program and he has also flourished in his capabilities. He started out very shy and withdrawn and has now evolved into a confident and eager young boy. He is enthusiastic about doing his homework and at the age of 4 is already beginning to read, add and subtract. We are forever grateful at Oxford Learning for offering the Little Readers program and will continue to highly recommend this program to all our friends and family in the future. As parents, we cannot say enough positive things about this program that caters to each individual child and allows them to develop at their own pace. We look forward to what the future at Oxford Learning will hold for our youngest daughter, Jazmin and appreciate all the support and knowledge you have provided for our sons! Thank-you! Shamila S.

This is the first time that my son has ever actually looked forward to June finals. He’s now using all the strategies that you’ve taught him. He’s organized, manages his time, and he studies more. We used to have an ordeal every time a test came along. Now he just seems to handle everything so much better. Thank you so much! C. Strong

Oxford Learning helped me in so many ways and also helped me become the person I am today! They gave me the foundations of learning and taught me study habits. Everything I learned at Oxford Learning has helped me be successful in high school too. I was taught how to be organized, plan, and schedule my day to work efficiently. I am absolutely thankful for everything that Oxford Learning has done for me. Thank you! Catherine B.L.

Oxford Learning has given me the tools to succeed in my academics. Logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving are all the skills that Oxford Learning has taught me. My mathematics foundation was established here and has allowed me to continue to grow. Oxford Learning molds students into stronger learners and helps them develop a way of thinking not taught in schools. Oxford Learning has helped me become the student I am and is a phenomenal program to achieve academic excellence. Nicholas B.L.

I want to thank you for all the help you have given my kids throughout all these years. Since they began Little Readers at Oxford Learning, more than thirteen years ago, they have been growing in confidence, learning how to study and adapting work habits that will help them succeed in life. Complimenting what they learned at school with the tutoring program designed by you, specifically for them, my children have shown their high potential in academics. With your guidance and tutoring and with the help of the other teachers, they are now building their future and are prepared for their post-secondary education, realizing that the good academic foundation that they have is helping them now and will help them in the future to reach their goals. Thank you again for your love, patience, and guidance. Feliz Navidad (Betancourt-Lee Family)

Our daughter was struggling with some basic math concepts in grade 2. She was starting to dread math class and began to disengage from wanting to learn. Oxford Learning staff were able to improve her confidence and understanding of math problems in a fun and engaging environment. She really looked forward to her sessions at Oxford Learning and is now flourishing in school. The feedback from her school teacher reflected the additional help she received at Oxford Learning and her latest report describes her as ‘highly engaged in math class’. Many thanks Emma K-W

Our goal in choosing Oxford Learning to help our son was to find a place where he would acquire the motivation needed to achieve at the level of his ability. We have found that Oxford Learning provided a program which enabled our son to find more success in his studies. As you have clearly stated, self-confidence is at the root of success and we now feel this is the key to improving our son’s achievement and motivation at school. With some positive encouragement and activities that have shown him how capable he truly is, Oxford Learning has given us confidence that our son will succeed. It seems to me that part of what has made Oxford Learning an answer for our family is the kind of learning environment it offers. Our son enjoys his time with his teachers and senses the warm and welcoming atmosphere Oxford Learning provides. Marsha

We feel Kirsten is achieving at about her Grade 5 level. This would not have been possible without your help. We appreciate everything that you have done for Kirsten and have not hesitated to recommend your services to friends and acquaintances. We would especially like to commend you on how you and your staff treated Kirsten with patience, love, and respect. It was an integral part of her regaining her self-confidence. Denise

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of your wonderful teachers for doing such an excellent job with my daughter Stephanie. I noticed remarkable progress with Stephanie's school work and self-esteem. Her grades have improved and her confidence has grown to a new level, both socially and academically. She works very hard in school and is no longer struggling as before. Overall she is a much happier Grade 4 student. Sue

I need to write a letter to you expressing my gratitude for the difference your program has made and is still continuing to make for my daughter Shlah. This girl has gone from just barely squeaking through the grade advancements to achieving first or second class honours in all of her classes this year. That is remarkable! She has also gone from a student who had little or no self-confidence, to one who participates in class, asks questions, accepts challenging assignments without dread, and seems to actually enjoy her daily routine in school. She has chosen options classes this year, which are based on academics like math booster for instance rather than just art or drama. Donna

I found out Shawn’s marks today and he passed both Math and Social Studies! He was sitting at 80 for his Social Studies and received an 83 for the exam, giving an overall mark of 81! Thank you all again for all you did for him over the past 2.5 years. Things would have been a lot different if he hadn’t the structure of going to Oxford Learning twice a week! Mona S.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to you and your teaching associates for your remarkable accomplishments in furthering our son Mitchell’s academic capabilities. We came to you a year ago with a young boy frustrated, saddened and disillusioned with every aspect of school. We come away a year later with a young man confident, willing to learn, take on new challenges and complete assignments in a timely and proper manner. His entire attitude and approach to school has improved 100%! There are not enough words to convey our sincere gratitude to you and your team of professionals. Congratulations to everyone! Debbie

I enrolled my son in Oxford Learning's Little Readers program when he turned 3 years old. Since then, I have been impressed by his daily progress. The teachers are very capable, kind and caring, the class sizes are small and above all the children have fun learning every day. My son is learning a great deal and I have no doubt that he is more than ready to start kindergarten next year. I would highly recommend this program to any parents/ guardians looking for an excellent preschool for their child. Yasmin NH

Oxford Learning was our first choice for preschool after reviewing the available options. We were not disappointed. Oxford Learning teaches skills to help new students feel comfortable entering kindergarten and grade one, including academic, social, and motor. The student-teacher ratio is low and the focus on early reading skills really sets them apart. Plus, the teachers are genuinely interested in helping kids learn and grow. We were so impressed with the skills and confidence our little girl gained in the program we enrolled our little boy. Through the Little Readers program, our daughter gained confidence in her abilities and in the classroom setting. We are seeing the same results with our son. Michael S.

My son is currently in grade 4 and is home schooled. Oxford Learning has been a wonderful fit for us, providing my son with additional support in Language Arts and Math. Oxford Learning has been flexible in incorporating lessons geared to what he is currently doing in school and to help reinforce the concepts. I am so pleased with the progress my son has made, and the staff have been amazing. Taryn R.

I would highly recommend Oxford Learning's Little Readers program to anyone looking for a preschool or Kindergarten for their child. The classes are academic, small in size with flexible times and most of all fun. The teachers and staff are wonderful and I couldn't imagine sending my little guy anywhere else. A+ all around! My husband and I are grateful that we found Oxford Learning. They have given our children that extra boost of confidence and a positive learning environment. They have exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend them to any family whose child/children are in need of that extra push. Awesome teachers, and a wonderful opportunity for learning! I enrolled my daughter in Oxford Learning Calgary South hoping they could help her with her math. Tutoring is very expensive but education is very important to me. We had her enrolled each summer since first grade and her teachers were very impressed with her improvement. This year in middle school, she has received a straight A in math. I feel this grade has everything to do with the foundation she has received from Oxford Learning. Now I have a straight A student in math and I am very impressed! Cheryl C.

Our son Darrin was diagnosed with a Cognitive Learning Disability at an early age that had placed him in an ES1 program from Grade 2 to Grade 10. In Junior High School when Darrin was in Grade 9, we felt that he wasn’t being taught properly or being challenged enough. Darrin was starting to show us signs he wasn’t happy and he didn’t want to go to school. Hearing Darrin say this had us needing to do something to help him. We enrolled Darrin at Oxford Learning on May 8, 2011, for him to attend a one-hour session twice a week to have that extra support he was so much needing to build his morale back up. Darrin has been attending Oxford Learning for 4 years. The Oxford Learning staff is the best, and Todd and I highly recommend your child enrol. They have very highly qualified instructors with a 3 to 1 ratio that has worked tremendously in Darrin’s favour. They highly recommend Darrin to bring homework to work on there with the assistance of the instructor if need be. If there was no homework on nights Darrin attended class, they have Math, LA booklets and study guide techniques to help Darrin study for exams. Within the first week of attending classes, Darrin always came out their door to greet us with the biggest smile that we hadn’t seen for a long time. Darrin even commented to us that he would rather attend Oxford Learning full time than attend his school in Grade 9. We are very excited to say that for Darrin’s School Year 2014/2015 in Grade 11, Darrin won Honour Roll Award Certificates of Academic Excellence, A Certificate of Excellence Most Outstanding Student in English 10-4, Math 10-4 and Math 20-4, Science 20-4 and Social Studies 20-4 and Hockey Performance. With these Academic Certificates Darrin received Trophies and Plaques that stay at Bishop Grandin High School on display by School Office. Darrin’s first stop on his way home that day of winning all of his awards was Oxford Learning to Show Pat, Kiki, and Jenny all of his awards, and they were all very proud and emotional and congratulated Darrin as it was he who did all the hard work. Now in Grade 12, Darrin is excited to see his dream come true graduating with a KNE Certificate in June 2016 and taking another year to upgrade courses to graduate with a Grade 12 Diploma.
