Our son Dylan has been going to Oxford Learning Barrhaven for a little over two years three nights a week. When Dylan first started there he was in grade 5 and his level was between grade 2 and 3 for math and language. He was struggling so much in school and was not happy. The teachers at Oxford Learning helped him with his confidence so that he can complete his work and not be stressed. He is currently in grade 7 and is now able to do grade 7 math and language! Oxford Learning has helped him so much to get to grade level. He is always happy to go to tutoring and I think a big reason why is how wonderful all his teachers have been over the last two years. Just a week ago he came home from school and had 92% on his math test! Oxford Learning Barrhaven has completely changed my child. She has had challenges in math and comprehension for years and was falling behind in a regular classroom setting. It was obvious she needed more personalized instruction to supplement what she was learning in school. I had looked into other similar programs like the ones offered by Oxford Learning, but only Oxford Learning made me feel they were truly invested in my daughter’s learning…and building up her confidence so she could be successful, and overcome the hurdles she faces. After being assessed, we were able to incorporate a program that allowed her to catch up and review material at her own pace. She loves the environment and the teachers. She feels so welcomed and she enjoys attending her classes every week. Her confidence is growing, and she has stopped saying things like “I’m stupid” and “I give up”…. Just wanted to give my feedback on Oxford Learning Centre. It has been such a wonderful journey for my son. He started as a shy, reluctant little boy. I still remember discussing how he was struggling at school, especially with reading and writing, and asked if Oxford Learning can make miracles happen! We laughed! The staff at Oxford Learning have had amazing results with our son. We started tutoring after he was diagnosed with a reading disability in Grade 1. His school marks were poor, he was behind the other students, and he felt dumb and discouraged. This is an amazing location! My daughter came home so thrilled that she has this place to go to. All of the staff are amazing, the programming is great and my daughter even made a new friend.
