Hello there! My name is Bev and I’m a teacher at Oxford Learning Bradford. I taught elementary school in Toronto for over 30 years and retired a few years ago. I found that I really missed working with young learners and went to Cambodia to volunteer at a school there. The students were learning English, and I found the whole experience so rewarding. When I returned to Canada, I began tutoring online, using my ESL skills to teach students from Hong Kong, Rio, California, Turkey, and Ukraine. I continue to do so, and I love it. However, I think I am at my best when I am teaching in person. I love to see the faces of students when they feel achievement and success. My favourite phrase is “YES! I CAN do it!” If I were a superhero, my superpower would be the ability to allow every learner to feel success and confidence, and that is what we strive to do at Oxford Learning! My secret talent is singing the lyrics from most Broadway musicals. I love going to the theatre and reading. My favourite types of books are biographies and historical novels. I have two grown kids.
