About our centres: Our centre goes beyond tutoring, to help ignite a child's interest in learning, not just for one school year, but for a lifetime. Our unique approach to learning, designed by educational experts, is based on over 25 years of experience and proven scientific research into how children actually learn. At the centre, learning is about knowing, really understanding, how to integrate and retain new information. About the Position and Program: The Little Readers Academy® is an enriched half-day learning and after-school reading program for children aged 3-5, that develops the skills needed to learn and excel -- including reading, writing. Little Readers teachers use proprietary materials to teach students vowels, sounds, the alphabet, phonics, reading, writing, vocabulary and comprehension. Requirements:
    • Experience working with children (3-5 years of age)
    • Education with a focus on primary grades or other equivalent credentials is an asset
    • Strong communication skills, written and oral, fluency in English is a must as you are administering an English phonics program
    • Strong decision making, planning, organizing skills
    • A team player who enjoys working with others
    • Experience working with ESL preschool aged children is an asset
    • Able to multi-task, and work with multiple children in a learning environment
    • Be able to create fun activities that encourages reading

Our unique approach to learning, designed by educational experts, is based on over 25 years of experience and proven scientific research into how children actually learn. At the centre, learning is about knowing, really understanding, how to integrate and retain new information. About the Position: Oxford Learning HRM (Bedford, Halifax & Hammonds Plains) has an opening for an upbeat, dynamic teacher who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment. Candidates must possess a strong passion for seeing students succeed and must be comfortable teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in English and Math. Requirements:
    • Dynamic, upbeat and energetic personality
    • Experience working with children
    • Education with a focus on elementary/junior high grades or other equivalent credentials is an asset
    • Strong communication skills, written and oral, fluency in English is a must, French an asset
    • Strong decision making and planning skills
    • A team player who enjoys working with others
    • Highly organized, able to multi-task and think on your feet
    • Must be available two evenings a week from 3-7 and possibly Saturday mornings
