Little Readers Open House & Fall 2014 Registration - Thursday, March 13, 2014 - 5 pm to 7 pm Join us in our Little Readers room and see what we are all about! Young children WANT to learn. They want to know more and be more independent. Most of all, they want to be like you. Little Readers® makes the most of this critical time when children are most receptive to learning. We teach children as young as three years old to read. Our classes are small and we use a proprietary phonics-based program that’s as fun as it is effective. Free Special Event! We are hosting a Post-Secondary Planning Workshop on Friday, February 13, from 6:30 to 8 pm at our Gateway location. Kirstyn Travanut, Learning Clicks Ambassador, will be walking us through what your post-secondary education options are, offering aptitude testing and will let our students know what grants, scholarships and bursaries may be available to them It is never too early to start planning for the future and we are offering this event to all of our students in Grade 4 or higher. Spring Break Cooking Club Let's use our everyday math skills to create some tasty treats to share with your family! Geared for children in Grades 1 to 5, we will prepare one recipe per day, create a little cook book and play math-related games as our treats cook. This will be offered on Monday, March 30, Wednesday, April 1 and Monday, April 6. Class time is from 10 am to 12 pm. You can register for all three sessions for $75 or $30 a class and will be offered at our Gateway location. Spring Break Writing Workshop We will be offering a Writing Camp, suitable for students in Grade 6 to 12. Students will participate in brain storming activities, mapping ideas, organizing thoughts and writing essays during this 4 day workshop. We encourage students to bring in their current Social Studies and Language Arts material so that we can draw relevant essay topics that are transferable to their course work. This will run March 30 to April 2, from 1 pm to 3:30 pm, at our Gateway location. This is a stand-alone program and is offered to our current and new students for $199. Take advantage of this 10 – hour study skills crash course, offered March 30 to April 2, from 5:30 to 8 pm, at our Gateway location.
