Suspend In-Class Learning, Offer Virtual Tutoring

London, ON—Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. announced all its Canadian locations will be suspending their in-class tutoring lessons effective immediately.

“Given the ongoing communication from the Prime Minister, this is the most prudent decision to make to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff,” said Lenka Whitehead, Oxford Learning Centres President.

In response to concerns from parents about their children’s education, Oxford Learning will be offering virtual tutoring.

“We have made the move to an on-line program option for our students. Our locations are currently training their staff in regards to moving toward the technology and virtual student instruction,” Whitehead adds.

“We hope that by offering the online option, we will be able to not only help keep our students on track academically, but also offer a bit of the daily academic structure that students are already familiar with,” said Whitehead.

“We understand that this is a time of uncertainty for all of us. Parents will be particularly concerned as the current climate may be especially alarming for children who may be feeling unsettled or insecure by the rapid change to their regular routines. Our Facebook will have regular updates and different activities for children and parents. ” said Whitehead.

“As a community of educators, parents, and students, staying healthy is of utmost priority for everyone. We will do everything in our power to help our families navigate through these unchartered waters. It’s a difficult time for everyone and we all have to pull together to get through it, ” Whitehead adds.
