Answered!

1. Where are you located in Waterdown?
Address: 4-80 Hamilton Street North, Waterdown
Intersection: Hamilton Street and Cedar Street
Plaza: Cedar Plaza
2. Why do families come to Oxford Learning?
Not because of fractions. Or reading fluency. Or a failed test.
Families come to Oxford Learning because their bright, creative child is feeling lost.
Because confidence slipped through the cracks.
We don’t just help with homework.
We teach kids how to learn—how to think, focus, and stay motivated.
No timed worksheets. No quick fixes.
Just better learners — for school and for life.
Why a 3:1 teaching model?
Independence is the goal—but support is still essential.
Our model mimics a classroom: Students learn to manage distractions and refocus, all with a teacher at the table guiding every step.
It’s the best of both worlds: practicing real-life skills with focused, expert support.
Do you work with students who learn differently?
Yes! We are neuro-affirming.
From ADHD to Dyslexia—we meet students where they are.
We build trust, adapt to their needs, and teach in a way that truly works for them.
Why do you charge for a dynamic assessment?
Because it’s worth it. Our Dynamic Assessment is a comprehensive, one-on-one look at how your child learns—their cognition, executive function, and academic skills.
We don’t just place them in a level. We uncover how they think, where they get stuck, and what will help them grow.
How often does my child come to class?
Twice a week. Always.
Because one session isn’t enough to shift mindset, habits, or skills. Sessions that are either 60 or 90 minutes long, depending on your child’s needs.
What happens if my child misses a class? Do I get a makeup?
Yes! If you let us know by 9 a.m. the day of, we’ll happily reschedule it within 60 days.
Do you operate in the summer?
Absolutely. We go year-round because learning doesn’t stop when it’s sunny.
Most students lose 2-3 months of progress over the summer—the dreaded summer slide—making the return to school harder than it needs to be. We see summer as a chance to rebuild skills, boost confidence, and get ahead. Just two hours a week can help start September with less stress.
How does billing work?
We charge a flat-rate monthly tuition that is due on the first of each month.
Want to save a little? We offer a variety of prepaid packages that offer discounted monthly rates. We also offer a 5% sibling discount. Payment is accepted via credit card, e-transfer, cash, and cheque.
Will I know how my child is doing?
Yes. We check in every six weeks to share how things are going, set new goals, and celebrate wins. Need an update in between? We’re always here.
What makes your tutors qualified?
All of our tutors are trained in Oxford’s proven methods and get ongoing coaching to stay up to date. Many have backgrounds in education, but what really matters is their love for teaching and helping kids succeed.
What results can parents expect to see?
Parents can expect to see improved grades, stronger skills in reading, math, and French, and a noticeable boost in their child’s confidence and independence.
With consistent attendance, most students show steady progress in both core subjects and study habits, setting them up for long-term success.
