Rania

Owner & Centre Director

Rania has been the Owner and Centre Director at Oxford Learning Ancaster Centre for seven years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics and a Master of Science in Nuclear and Quantum Physics.

Throughout her career in education, Rania has held leadership roles, including positions as a physics and mathematics instructor, head of the science department, and academic vice principal at several international educational institutions. Her dedication to education is demonstrated through her commitment to assisting students and educators in enhancing their capabilities and accomplishing their objectives. She derives great satisfaction from teaching and learning and is unwavering in her pursuit of ongoing development and refinement. 

In her free time, Rania indulges in literary pursuits and appreciates music.

Yahia

Education Director

Yahia graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts; he majored in Political Science.

Yahia loves teaching English and helping students improve their essay-writing skills. He is passionate about redefining abstract or concrete concepts that clarify certain/specific points and debating different ideas, as this tends to help form new, sometimes innovative perspectives and reflect on the implications of such conclusions. 

In his free time, Yahia enjoys playing and listening to music, writing, playing contact sports, and drawing.

Jayden

Education Coordinator - Math, Chemistry and Physics Educator.

Jayden is passionate about curiosity and discovery in all aspects of life and is driven to answer the questions "How?" and "Why?" He studied at the University of Waterloo for a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Physics and completed several philosophy courses to broaden his understanding of the world. He's also tutored at Sheridan College for some time.

His favourite part of teaching is watching a student's squinting, confused look transform into wide eyes and a nod of understanding as they connect the ideas and realize how the world works. He loves to teach mathematics, physics, and chemistry, but he is also excited to help find answers to questions in nearly any subject.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, canoeing, camping, and binging edutainment videos on YouTube. 

Carmelina

French & English Educator

Carmelina Palacios holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and completed her Bachelor of Education at Western in London, ON. 

She is a relatively new teacher in Hamilton and specializes in French and music. Carmelina holds her DELF examinateur-correcteur certificate for the A1-A2 levels of French. As a newer teacher, she constantly seeks ways to share her expertise and expand her leadership and teaching experiences. 

Carmelina enjoys going on walks, playing badminton and practising her flute for fun.

Erika

English & French Educator

Erika graduated from Redeemer University with a Bachelor of Arts. She majored in English Literature and minored in Social Work. Erika is currently completing a Bachelor of Education to become a teacher. She loves to teach English but also likes teaching French. Her favourite aspect of teaching is witnessing the delight on students' faces when they finally grasp a concept they initially struggled with.

Erika enjoys reading, baking, and being with her family and friends in her free time.

Yasmina

French Educator

Yasmina graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Psychology and is working on her Bachelor of Education at Western University.

Yasmina loves teaching French. Her favourite part of teaching is watching students take pride in overcoming a difficult subject. 

Yasmina's love for teaching and learning extends beyond the classroom. In her free time, she indulges in her love for cooking and exploring new cuisines, a testament to her adventurous spirit and openness to new experiences.

Jasmine

Math, Science & English Educator

Jasmine is a fourth-year Biomedical student at McMaster University, specializing in the Software Engineering stream. 

She is passionate about helping students understand the underlying principles of concepts. Jasmine enjoys teaching math, science, and English, fostering curiosity and critical thinking in her students. She finds great joy in making learning more meaningful and engaging. Witnessing her students experience "aha!" moments and grow in independence reflects her empathy and care. 

Jasmine enjoys reading, drawing, and playing video games in her free time.

Karine

French & English Educator

Karine is a third-year McMaster University student working toward her Honours Bachelor's in Kinesiology. 

Karine's love for teaching and her dedication to the French culture are at the core of her identity as a Franco-Ontarienne. She is passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where students feel empowered to learn, grow, overcome challenges, and celebrate accomplishments. Her commitment to this cause is unwavering, and she especially values the moments when students clearly understand a concept and engage enthusiastically—an experience that helps build their academic confidence. 

In her free time, she enjoys playing various sports, cooking delicious meals, and unwinding with a good book.

Nathan

English and Math Educator

Nathan has earned his Bachelor’s degree from McMaster University, where he double majored in History and English. 

He enjoys teaching English and is keen to teach math as well. Currently, Nathan is working toward becoming a future teacher, focusing on students in grades K-6. He finds teaching rewarding because he helps students achieve their individual academic goals. Additionally, Nathan is passionate about assisting students as they work through challenging problems they may struggle with. 

In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing various sports, such as hockey in the winter and soccer in the summer.

Kristen

Math, Science & English Educator

Kristen earned her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Brock University. 

She enjoys teaching biology, chemistry, math, and English. Her favourite part of teaching is learning alongside her students as they ask challenging questions that make her think differently. She is passionate about helping others understand the subjects she loves.

In her free time, Kristen enjoys reading, writing creatively, sewing, and playing the piano.

Sean

English and Math Educator

Sean earned their Bachelor's degrees from McMaster University, majoring in English and Cultural Studies and in Societies, Cultures, and Religion.

Sean has a passion for teaching English and math. Their favourite aspect of teaching is the opportunity to positively influence students' academic and social lives, fostering a culture of personal responsibility and mutual care. They aspire to instill in their students the same love of writing and literature that their teachers have imparted to them over the years.

In their free time, Sean enjoys reading, practising martial arts, writing fiction, and playing music as much as possible.
