Laurey has worked in the field of Sales and Marketing in the position of Corporate Trainer within various industries for over 30 years. In addition, Laurey has hosted her own cable program with Shaw television; she has published editorials for Edge magazine; she is an accomplished event planner and interior design consultant; and according to Laurey, her most important role and greatest achievement, is being a Mom. While raising three wonderful children, all of whom are now University graduates; Laurey spent several years working from home to care for her kids, whilst also providing care for children with special needs through the Children’s Aid Society. She has a passion for volunteering and has given her time to numerous organizations over the years; some of which include Habitat for Humanity, The Salvation Army, and Wellsprings Cancer Centre. Laurey currently co-owns the Oxford Learning Centres in both Ancaster and Barrie South with her eldest son Jake, and she primarily handles the back office side of the business. She is passionate about the Oxford Learning difference and takes her responsibility, and that of the centres, very seriously. Laurey is deeply appreciative of the trust that families place in her and the Oxford Learning staff, and is fiercely committed to helping teach children how to learn. Jake graduated in Barrie, ON as an Ontario Scholar. He attained his BA at Western University and then returned to Barrie’s Georgian College Human Resource Program to complete his formal education. He began his career in the field of Human Resources, specializing in training and program implementation and continues to utilize the experience he gained, in different roles, to manage a variety of business projects including his current position as Vice President of a national distribution company in the Aesthetics field. Jake is a self-proclaimed sports fanatic, both amateur and professional. He both plays and coaches Basketball, Baseball, Ball Hockey, Football and more. Through the ownership of Oxford Learning franchises, Jake has been able to realize the dream of combining his love of managing a business, with his love of helping children to reach their full potential. Currently, partnered with his mother Laurey, Jake is proud to be the co-owner of Oxford Learning Ancaster and Barrie South.
