    Part-time High School Math/Science Teacher

    Oxford Learning Bowmanville is looking for an enthusiastic part-time High School Math and Science teacher who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment. Candidates must be comfortable teaching math and science for students in grades 9-12.

    A great candidate for this position will possess the following skills:
    • Excellent English communication skills
    • Strong background in a combination of: advanced functions, calculus, algebra, data management, physics, chemistry and biology
    • OCT certified is preferred
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    Teaching Requirements:
    • Flexible availability for 2-4 evenings per week (3:00-8:00pm)
    • Dynamic, energetic and outgoing personality
    • Highly organized, and able to think on your feet
    • Friendly, personable and versatile

    Oxford Learning Bowmanville is looking for teachers to join our growing team and make a difference in the lives of students and their families every day.     Our teachers:
    • Offer individualized instruction, guidance and support to students to improve their core academic skills (reading, writing and/or math), thinking skills, learning strategies, and study habits.
    • Build confidence, motivation and an active-mind in students
    • Establish a fun learning environment
    • Have a passion for teaching and are dynamic, energetic, reliable and demonstrate great initiative
    Candidates must possess:
    • A Bachelor of Education Degree
    • Teaching or tutoring experience
    • Strong English written and oral communication skills
    • Organization skills and multi-tasking abilities
    • Ability to motivate students and build their confidence
    • A variety of flexible teaching strategies
    • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

    This position also requires that you are available for a minimum of 2-4 nights/week from 4-8 pm, and/or Saturday morning from 9 am-12 pm.

    Preference will be given to candidates comfortable working with all elementary grade levels and who have a comprehensive understanding of the math curriculum and/or who speak French. Only candidates who meet our requirements will be contacted for interviews.
