As a newly graduated teacher candidate from Niagara University, being able to teach at Oxford Learning Bolton has been an incredible experience for me so far! I majored in Literature and Theatre at the University of Toronto, so sharing my knowledge on literacy and the way it is reflected in society and day-to-day life is definitely a passion of mine. I teach because my goal is to help students discover their own passions, and see the potential in themselves that isn't always there at the beginning. Seeing "the light go on" in a student's eyes after they have been working so hard to achieve something, and they finally achieve it...that's one of the best feelings in the world!
Oxford gives students the opportunity to develop and build on strategies and concepts that will help them have a deeper understanding of a wide breadth of subjects. I provide my students with individual support, while also encouraging them to explore their own self efficacy through working independently. I believe that this helps our students to develop into inquisitive, explorative and creative learners who will grow to contribute amazing things to our evolving world. Another element of teaching at Oxford that is incredibly important to me is not only academic support, but social/mental health support for our students as well. I want them to feel comfortable and safe within our space, knowing that we are here to listen, and help them realize that they belong to a community; our Oxford community!
When I am not teaching, I love to deepen my knowledge on literature, the art and the world around me. You can find me writing poetry, reading novels, enjoying a great live musical (before covid-19 of course), watching movies of any genre or hiking through some gorgeous forest trails."

Working at Oxford Learning has been one of my most rewarding experiences. As someone who has always had a passion for teaching, I was thrilled to see that passion grow here at Oxford. I am currently in my third year at York University in the French Studies program with the ultimate goal of becoming a teacher. Oxford Learning has shown to me that students can do anything they put their mind too and seeing students understand a concept or complete a goal that we have been working on is very rewarding.
I love how Oxford Learning allows me to get to know each student individually. Every learner is different and by having a strong foundation, we can find out what works best for them. Whether that be adding real world examples or talking it out, I love seeing students gain the confidence to try new things and apply it in different ways.
When I’m not teaching or at school, you can find me watching the Toronto Blue Jays either on TV or at the Rogers Centre. I also enjoy playing a variety of sports whether that be by skating or running, baking and walking in the beautiful forests (preferably in the winter).

I feel like I’ve truly succeeded at my job as an Oxford Learning coach when I see my students make connections and have an “I get it now!” moment. I enjoy being a part of helping students gain confidence and make connections with their work. It is rewarding when I see my students arrive at my table, excited and willing to learn.
Working at Oxford Learning has allowed me to build a one-on-one connection with students that is not always possible in a traditional classroom environment. Oxford Learning coaches are able to focus on each student's individual needs and determine where they need the most assistance. As a result, students can extend their knowledge, give critical views on topics, and discover the type of learner they are.
I applied to Oxford Learning because my teaching philosophies coincide with the philosophies of Oxford Learning. I believe that every student has the potential to be a better student and I enjoy helping them achieve their goals. I like seeing students improve on even the tiniest details of their work and making sure they understand previous concepts before building on them.
When I am not studying or teaching I enjoy reading, going to the movies, or travelling. I enjoy these activities because it allows me to practise what I teach and extend my own thoughts and critical knowledge on a variety of topics.

As a newly graduated student from York University in the area of Human Rights and Equity Studies, I believe in the idea of an inclusive and understanding world. Working at Oxford Learning has provided me with the opportunity to create an inclusive and safe environment for students of all abilities. I encourage this by tailoring my teaching style to each child in order for them to succeed. Oxford Learning has allowed me to demonstrate my abilities to teach and has solidified my goal of becoming a teacher.
Being a teacher at Oxford provides me with the opportunity to work with a wide range of children. It allows me to get to know each and every child and truly understand the different learning strategies needed in order to ensure each and every child’s success. Understanding the differences between a hands-on learner and a child that prefers to read and talk out questions, is what I strive to understand and focus on to ensure their success. Understanding that each and every student is different, I constantly ensure that my teaching abilities are constantly evolving to meet each child’s needs.
I am someone who is calm, approachable, funny, and charismatic. Growing up my love for hockey took off when I then joined a competitive sledge hockey team and played for 7 years. Being a part of this team taught me a lot about discipline, and commitment. When I am not teaching or at school, I enjoy playing and going on walks with my dog, watching movies, listening to music, and playing and watching any sports.

From a young age, I knew that my future would include teaching. I have always valued education because of the knowledge and opportunities it has provided me in the past and continues to provide me with today. Reflecting back on my time within the education system, I have realized that my character has been shaped by the positive impact of my previous teachers. This influence has fostered my passion for teaching and has motivated me to make a difference in the lives of students within the education system. I am choosing to pursue a career in education because of my strong desire to guide and influence others to reach their fullest potential, like how my teachers have done for me.
I am currently in the process of completing my undergraduate degree in the Honours Bachelor of Arts Psychology program at York University. I am also a candidate in the Concurrent Bachelor of Education program at York University. As I immerse myself in the field of education, I have recognized that my passion for education has only grown stronger. As a future educator, I want to be able to inspire and instil the importance of education and learning within each and every one of my students to ensure that they can reach their fullest potential. I believe that it is most important to help students gain confidence and help them to recognize their passions, abilities, and potentials for success.
As a teacher at Oxford, I value the importance of building one-on-one connections with my students. I strongly believe that each and every student has the potential to grow and the curriculum Oxford provides students with certainly helps to enhance their educational capabilities. Oxford provides students with an inclusive learning environment that allows them to freely ask questions and immerse themselves within additional opportunities to enhance their learning. My goal for teaching at Oxford is to instil students with an intrinsic motivation to learn and to help them to build their courage and confidence that will allow them to easily reach their full academic potential.
Outside of studying and teaching, I very much enjoy spending valuable time with my friends and family. I also enjoy reading, travelling, hiking and watching movies!

I have always had a passion for teaching and that passion has only gotten stronger since working at Oxford Learning. I am currently in my third year of the Honours Math for Education program at York University and I am enrolled in the Concurrent Education program. My ultimate goal is to become a teacher and I am enjoying the journey of pursuing that. Oxford Learning allows me to apply the skills I have learned thus far and develop new ones that help me grow as an educator.
I enjoy being a teacher at Oxford Learning because they provide a safe and positive environment where students can get excited about learning. I love helping students overcome their learning challenges and clear up any confusion. It is very rewarding to see students improve, achieve their goals, and gain confidence in their abilities.
I believe that building positive connections with students is a very important aspect of learning, and Oxford Learning creates an opportunity for this to happen. By getting to know my students, I can better relate concepts to their own experiences in order to make learning more enjoyable while gaining an understanding of what areas they struggle in. Oxford Learning values student growth beyond the curriculum by emphasizing the use of good study habits and learning strategies that students can apply to many aspects of their lives.
I am often described as being a good listener, reliable and approachable. Growing up, I was in competitive gymnastics and played on a rep soccer team where I learned a lot about discipline, teamwork, and commitment. In my free time, I always enjoy being active in some way, whether it is running or playing various sports, listening to music, and baking.

Education and the confidence that we can gain from it has always been extremely important to me and that is why I am so thrilled to be working at Oxford. I am a recent graduate from Chelsea College of Arts in London, England where I obtained my Master’s in Fine Arts. Prior to this I obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University. My approach to my own education has refused to be narrowed by limitations or expectations and I have always sought to draw influence
from many sources and ways of learning. That is why I was pulled to work at Oxford.
The teaching methodologies at Oxford greatly align with my own. I have always enjoyed teaching, and to this day I am passionate to learn and that is something Oxford grants students through providing them the confidence to succeed. My goal is to inspire a love of learning that is passionate, indulgent, and creative, allowing students too approach problems and come to decisions in their own unique ways. Oxford inspires a sense of community amongst its students and teachers
that allow for all of us to feel welcome within this wonderful space.
Here at Oxford, I provide students with individual support in order to help them resolve
problems and create strategies that they can not only use in the classroom but apply to their everyday lives as they continue to move forward. It is my hope to encourage them to become active and creative learners who will go out and explore the world and all the breadth of knowledge accessible to them with confidence and passion – and this Oxford fosters in its teaching practices.
When I am not teaching, I love to read and write, but most often you can find me creating art. Often you’ll find me in the studio polishing off a bronze piece or embroidering away stitch by stitch – and if I’m not there, then I’m showcasing work in exhibitions both national and international. It’s a lot of work, but it is a labour of love.
