Oxford Learning Burlington South is looking for a dynamic and motivated Education Coordinator with strong people skills to assist in the day-to-day management of our busy centre.
Oxford Learning programs impart new approaches to learning, designed to last a lifetime. We teach children from pre-school to post-secondary levels how to learn, concentrate, listen, and remember. But most importantly, to believe in themselves.
Our Education Coordinator is an academic superhero: helping kids of all ages get better grades. He or she is an integral part of a team that helps students achieve academic success. Education Coordinators are trained in our system, methodologies, and approach.
As the Education Coordinator, you would participate in all aspects of the centre's operations including office administration, managing student programming and assessments, meeting with parents and school teachers, and working closely with students from kindergarten to high school.
Candidates must possess a strong passion for seeing students succeed and must be comfortable teaching students ranging in age. Must have experience in sales, marketing, and business development as well as possess superb communication and interpersonal skills. Must be willing to work evenings and Saturday mornings and will be trained in our systems, methodologies, and approach.

- Build relationships with parents and the community
- Maintain a service schedule and effectively execute pre-assigned tasks throughout the workday
- Create a fun and energetic learning environment on a daily basis
- Effectively master the Oxford Learning teaching philosophy as well as coaching other teaching members of the team
- Promote and participate in all aspects of the Oxford Learning business
- Experience working in an educational environment dealing with large student bodies
- Strong secondary school mathematics skills are an asset
- Experience working in a business environment is an asset
- Strong computer skills (MS Office)
- Strong phone skills and experience in customer service (experience in sales is preferred)
- Minimum university degree (Credits in Social Sciences, Languages, Math, and Business preferred)
- Strong secondary school mathematics skills are an asset
- Additional language(s) spoken is an asset
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- 3-5 years administrative experience in a supervisory role
- Teaching certification an asset

In-Centre Elementary Teacher (Part-time)Position Details
Oxford Learning Burlington South is seeking eager, engaging, and reliable part-time elementary teachers who are interested in working with students from Grades 1 to 8 in the areas of reading, writing, and math. We focus on academic and cognitive development through our Oxford Learning individualized teaching methods and philosophy in a fun environment. We provide training in our innovative interactive coaching methods that teach students how to learn and study more effectively.A great candidate will possess the following skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- OCT or ECE certified or candidate preferred
- Experience tutoring or teaching children
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Knowledge of the language and math curriculum from grades 1-8
- Ability to read, write, and speak French an asset, but not required
- Flexible availability for 2-4 evenings per week in the Learning Centre (3:00-7:00 pm) and potentially Saturday mornings (9:00 am-12:00 pm)

Candidates must possess a strong background in math and science and must be comfortable teaching students in Grades 9–12 at all levels in both subjects.

Joanne holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph, as well as a Teaching Effectiveness Certificate from Humber College. She loves creating a friendly and welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff at the Learning Centre. A busy mom to four kids and passionate about her community, Joanne has volunteered extensively within local schools and has over 20 years of volunteer service with Girl Guides of Canada. Joanne’s passion for improving the lives of children through supplemental education makes her excited to go into the Learning Centre each day. In her spare time, Joanne enjoys spending time with family, travelling, curling, and cuddling with her new puppy, Daisy.Close
Elise was recently accepted into the Master of Science in Education program at Medaille College. She graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics. She found her passion for teaching through tutoring first-year university students and is on track to become a math and physics teacher. Elise’s favourite part of teaching at Oxford Learning is watching her students overcome obstacles and seeing them light up as their confidence grows. You will always see a smile on Elise’s face when she is teaching and she constantly encourages her students to keep an open mind in their more challenging subjects. Theresa shares her enthusiastic love for learning with her students and helps them build their self-confidence to better realize their own potential. Kira holds both a Master of Science and an Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University. Kira joined Oxford Learning Centre in 2018 and was quickly inspired to become an Ontario Certified Teacher. She is on-track to graduate from Western University with her Bachelor of Education in the spring of 2021. Kira is most passionate about teaching math and science. She strives to provide individualized support for students to help them realize and achieve their goals. She loves being involved in students’ learning, helping them overcome their challenges, and celebrating their successes with them. Aside from teaching, Kira enjoys walking, playing golf, and doing yoga.
Laura is currently working toward a PhD in Kinesiology from McMaster University. She holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science from the University of Ottawa. Laura is fluent in French, loves working on math and science problems, and hopes to pass on her enthusiasm for learning to her students. In her spare time Laura likes reading, exercising, and snuggling with her dog, Poppy.Close
Yousef holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics from McMaster University. He joined Oxford Learning in 2015 and has since helped countless high school students achieve their academic goals. He is passionate about helping his students succeed and believes that creating a relaxing environment leads to an optimal learning experience. Yousef also strives to help students develop an interest and curiosity for learning outside of typical school subjects. He is fluent in Arabic, loves all things engineering, and especially enjoys teaching math and physics. In Yousef’s spare time, he enjoys 3D modelling and printing, working on cars, graphic design, camping, and outdoor activities.Close

She has been teaching with Oxford Learning since the fall of 2020 and also has extensive experience facilitating at summer camps. She loves meeting new people and strongly believes in helping kids reach their full potential. She has a love of biology, math, and chemistry, and hopes to share these passions with her students.
Jana is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Education program at Medaille College. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Family and Social Relations from the University of Guelph and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Seneca College. Jana is pursuing her dream of becoming an Ontario Certified Teacher after having taken time off to focus on raising her four kids. Tedra received her Master of Science in Mathematics from McMaster University and her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from McGill University. It is hard to find someone out there who loves math more than Tedra! She not only loves watching her students get better in math, but she loves watching them learn to love math. Tedra is fluent in French, loves to travel, and has lived in Greece, Japan, and England. She is also a certified scuba diving instructor and was a competitive swimmer, so when she is not doing math, you’ll usually find Tedra under water!Close
