For the 2017/2018 school year we are pleased to introduce the all new Brag Board to our centre! Along with our Stars of Oxford Learning board, the Brag Board allows our students to share their growth and success within our Oxford Learning Burlington community. We, as educators, love to see our students come in with an A+ assignment or test on a concept they have been working so hard on! It's those moments that give our students such a sense of accomplishment and give them proof that the hard work does in fact, pay off.
If your child is a student at our centre, and receives a great mark on an assignment, test, essay, book report, spelling quiz, math quiz, etc. please send it in for their next class! We will take a copy and post it up on the Brag Board with pride!
Our experience with Oxford Learning Burlington has been very positive and rewarding! Our son, Nicholas has benefitted 100% by attending classes every week. Oxford Learning has given Nicholas the ability and confidence to work independently with more assurance of himself, and we owe that to the Burlington team. He always looks forward to his classes, the teachers are very approachable and ALWAYS willing to help and Anne-Marie and Meaghan go out of their way to insure that Nicholas (and all of the students) get the best program for their needs and always get a boost of confidence every time they come in for a class.
Thank you so much, Oxford Learning Burlington for a wonderful year!
"I was absolutely thrilled with the results my son achieved at his Oxford Learning program. When he went for his assessment at the end of Grade 5 he was assessed at a Grade 1 French level. With the help of his amazing Oxford Learning teacher, he has completely caught up to his classmates! Oxford Learning gave him the small group teaching model he so desperately needed, and has boosted not only his marks but his confidence as well."
Along with an emphasis in Business Management and Marketing, I also have extensive experience working with and relating to children of all ages. I decided that I wanted to pursue a career that would not only put my management skills to great use, but also provide assistance in the educational growth and development of children. This is what led me to Oxford Learning.
Oxford Learning holds a special place in my heart as I have young family members that have attended in the past. Over time I’ve watched their confidence grow, their attitudes improve and their grades increase significantly. I strongly believe in the program because I’ve seen first hand that it truly does work! There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have had a hand in helping so many children achieve great academic and personal success. I love building relationships with our students and feel it is important for each child to feel that they are in a comfortable and safe environment while also incorporating a little fun into what they are learning about. In my free time, I enjoy seeing live music, sports (especially Hockey), being outdoors, photography, as well as spending time with my family, friends and my cat and two dogs, Charlie, Abby and Ryker.
With a Bachelor of Honors Degree from Trent University and an emphasis in Teacher Education and Psychology, I am committed to helping students achieve their academic and cognitive goals. Over the past twelve years working for Oxford Learning, I have attained new skills and experiences to help in my role as Director of Education. I enjoy working together with both parents and students to ensure they receive the best possible program. I am committed to ensuring students are in a safe environment where they feel confident, motivated, and most importantly, inspired. In my spare time I enjoy doing fun activities with my son, reading books and enjoying time with my family and friends.

As a teacher, you are able to grow with your students by seeing their potential and confidence progress in each session you have with them. Witnessing a student smile and celebrate their success is the best part about being a teacher. I graduated from Brock University in the Concurrent Education Program, where I received a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts. I am currently an Occasional Teacher in the school board, where I'm pursuing my career dream. As well, I volunteer coach the U14 Field Hockey girls. I love being a part of this team because you develop a relationship with the kids and get to watch their confidence increase day by day. It’s a lot of fun working with the teachers and kids.
I received my International Bachelor of Arts degree from York University's bilingual Glendon Campus where I studied French - English translation and Spanish/Hispanic Studies.
During my time as a teaching assistant in France, I found that I really enjoyed working with students and helping them to better understand their work. The one thing I like best about working with students is seeing them gain more confidence as they progress. Some of my favourite pastimes are traveling, drawing/painting, photography, reading, sports, and studying foreign languages.
I graduated from Brock University with a degree in Child and Youth Studies and went on to get my teaching degree at Nipissing University. I am a teacher with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and am currently teaching kindergarten in the country.
I have been working at Oxford Learning for a year now. My passion for teaching drove me to search for a way outside of school hours to help students develop their love for learning. Oxford Learning is a great fit for me. I love the people I work with and care about my students. The positive and inviting atmosphere makes Oxford Learning Burlington feel like a second home to me. I enjoy teaching and getting to see my students excitement when they complete a page or a book.
In my spare time I love to travel, play soccer, and watch movies.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography and a Bachelor of Education for Intermediate/Senior from Brock University, and later got my Junior. I am currently an Elementary Supply Teacher in the school board. When I was young, I was a student at Oxford Learning and soon realized what a tremendous amount of help it was for me, especially when I got into school and had to complete assignments and write tests. The programs really give students the proper tools to help them not only academically, but cognitively as well. Now I want to give back and do the same thing for students that are in the position I was in years ago. I really enjoy working with kids and love the positive work environment that Oxford Learning provides!
I started working at Oxford Learning with English and French students in April 2017, and thrive working in such a positive environment where meaningful teacher and student interactions are constant. I have watched students grow tremendously to improve their confidence and their problem solving abilities, something that makes working with Oxford Learning very rewarding.
I am a second year student at Brock University in the Consecutive Teacher Education Program working towards my Bachelor of Education. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo, concentrating in both French and social development studies and knew from a young age that I wanted to be an educator. I think that all students have the capacity to grow and learn in all subjects and that stems from being confident in their own abilities. My favourite teaching moment is when the lightbulb turns on and a student finally masters a concept that they have been working on understanding for so long!
In my spare time I like to paint, cook with my family and spend time with my close friends.
I am currently a teacher at Oxford Learning and find this job extremely rewarding. At Oxford Learning, I have the opportunity to help students grow in confidence and create a positive attitude around learning.

Working with every student to promote self-confidence and a passion for learning is something that I strive to achieve. Each student has their own insecurities, so providing them with the attention and motivation for success can influence the way their learning develops. It is so rewarding to see the positive effects our programs have on the students when they start to make sense of areas they were originally struggling with.
In my free time, I enjoy playing baseball, taking hikes with my dog and traveling.
