Along with an emphasis in Business Management and Marketing, I also have extensive experience working with children of all ages. I decided that I wanted to pursue a career that would not only put my management skills to great use, but also provide assistance in the educational growth and development of children. This decision is what led me to Oxford Learning.
Oxford Learning holds a special place in my heart, as I myself was a student in high school. Throughout my time at Oxford, I developed much more confidence in myself, there were big imporvements in my attitude and a signifigant increase in my grades. I strongly believe in the program because I’ve experienced first hand that it truly does work! There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have helped so many students, young AND old, achieve great academic and personal success. I really enjoy building relationships with all of our students and feel it is so important for each child or teen to know they are in a comfortable and safe environment, while also incorporating a little fun into what they are learning about.
In my free time, I enjoy seeing live music, going to hockey games, anything that involves creativity, being outdoors, doing fun activities with my niece and nephews and spending time with my family, friends and my pets.

Hello! My name is Daniela and I am the Education Coordinator as of September 2021. I do on occasion teach Grades K-8 for reading, writing and math. I’m a graduate from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Behavioural Psychology and a minor in Linguistics. I strongly value the importance of clear communication and enjoy working with students to improve their articulation.
I love working at Oxford because it caters to the unique needs of students and creates a welcoming environment, which helps students feel appreciated. Oxford acknowledges the ‘small wins’, which is one of my favourite parts. This means no matter how big or small the accomplishment is, we are always proud of our students.
Beyond academics, we value the importance of life skills such as time management and organization. These are valuable traits that will help prepare individuals for life success. Most importantly, I love working at Oxford because I witness increased confidence amongst the students and an increased drive to learn.
Beyond the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family/friends, baking and taking long walks.

Core & French Teacher - JK - Grade 9

Hi, I'm Jessica! I am currently pursuing my teaching degree after graduating from McMaster with a BA in English.
Oxford Learning is the reason why I knew I wanted to become a teacher. After working with the great students who come here and seeing the progress they make, it really motivated me to start my teaching career. I am the Education Coordinator, but I also occasionally teach grades JK to 8 as well as the French students. Oxford Learning is a fantastic place for students to improve their grades, become more confident, and have fun while doing so. Oxford Learning has a way of teaching students skills to help them improve both in and out of school, with methods I've never seen before. I have seen countless students improve their skills and grades, and their confidence goes up because of this. Every time a student comes in excited to tell me what they got on a test I may have helped them study for, or an assignment they did well on, I love to celebrate with them and keep their momentum going!
In my spare time, I like to read, write, spend time with my family and friends; especially outdoors and especially with my dog (or any dog!)

Hi! I’m Lauren and I teach students in JK to grade 8. I just completed my Bachelor's Degree in Child and Youth Studies from Brock University. I’ll be starting Teacher’s College in September 2021 to earn my Bachelor of Education Degree, also at Brock University.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. I remember the excitement I felt going to school and I love to celebrate that excitement with students as well! I believe in celebrating small and big accomplishments with students. I enjoy seeing the excitement and pride in students when they learn new concepts; my goal is to help students so that they can feel this way in every class. I get great satisfaction from seeing students grow and develop, both personally and academically. Helping students realize their growth and potential is so important! I believe in building relationships with students and getting to know them as a student as well as a person. This helps me to adapt my teaching style in a way that works best for each student and also makes learning more fun.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching tv and movies, and being outdoors when the weather is nice!

"Hey there! My name is Vijithan and I tutor students from grades 4 to 12 in the Beyond Tutoring (Core) and Advantage (High School) programs! I am currently in my 5th year of studies at Ryerson University pursuing a major in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. My goal at Oxford Learning is to make sure that my students are prepared for their future and enjoy learning as much as I do.
Tutoring is my greatest passion and I love teaching and sharing my experiences with the students here. I have been in a position when I was in high school where I wished I could have had a teacher that understands me and the way I learn. This is why I strive to be that teacher for my students. Oxford Learning gives me the opportunity to help these students be the best version of themselves and for them to feel confident in their own abilities. I believe that each and every student has the potential to be great and it is my responsibility as their tutor to bring this potential out.
In my own time, I love to play basketball, watch tv shows and play video games. Otherwise, you can catch me relaxing with friends and family or even making or trying new types of food. "

Working with the students at Oxford allows for me to constantly evolve as a teacher and learner, as I enable students to reach their full academic potentials.
In my free time I love staying active, whether that is with my beagle pup Daisy for playing recreational basketball. You can also find me watching tv shows and movies, especially anything Marvel!

Hi! I’m Ms. Veronica and I tutor students from junior kindergarten to high school. I graduated from the University of Toronto majoring in Psychology and French Teaching and Learning.
As a mother and a tutor I find it most rewarding to watch a child/student grasp a concept or skill that they had previously been struggling with. I’ve always loved children and find that I grow and learn as much from them as they do from me.
I love working for Oxford because they have such an amazing group of students and because the staff is so kind and supportive.
During my spare time I enjoy hiking, gardening, swimming and skating. I also love to sing, dance (to the dismay of my children), read and learn. Most of all, I love to spend time sharing a laugh with my family and friends.
My goal is to not only have students improve their grades but to foster their curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
