Our experience with Oxford Learning has been that they are an active, positive, and essential part of our son's education. You make learning fun and challenging. All activities are customized to our son and propel him forward. The teachers at Oxford Learning and at his school work together so that he gets help as problems are identified, which allows us all to work together to assist our son in reaching his full potential, and to be a productive and positive member of society.

At the beginning of this school year Isabelle was struggling tremendously in school. Her reading, writing, and comprehension were not at grade level, and she was finding it difficult to grasp new ideas and concepts. She was quickly falling behind in all school subjects, even by the end of the first month! By October I had enrolled Isabelle with Oxford Learning. I have always wanted the best for my child, as education is a very important issue. I had heard many positive remarks about your program and felt it was worth a try.
As school went on, I noticed remarkable progress with Isabelle’s schoolwork and self-esteem. Her grades have improved and her confidence has grown to a new level, both socially and academically. She works very hard in school and is no longer struggling as before. Overall, she is a much happier grade student!
I have a Bachelor of Education in early childhood. I have been working at Oxford Learning for about 5 years and just adore the Little Readers program. I love the outdoors, camping, skiing and hiking; now I wish I could teach outside! :)
I grew up in a small town outside of Ottawa where I loved to skate and ride my horse. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a teacher. After graduating university with my teaching degrees I decided to do some world exploring. I moved to Belgium to teach third grade, speak French and travel around Europe. I have teaching experience in most elementary grades and special education. I came to Calgary this past summer and I can’t wait to get on the mountains!
I am very excited to be part of the Oxford Learning Little Readers program once again this year. My personal philosophy has been to support each child's abilities, personalities, and give them the opportunity to reach their potential. I obtained a science degree in dietetic from the University of Alberta and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Education at the University of Calgary. I have had many wonderful experiences over the years working with children and parents. I look forward to sharing a fun-filled year.
I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2006 with a Bachelor of Commerce. After running my own business I decided to make a career change, so now I am pursuing a Masters of Teaching degree. As a native Calgarian I enjoy the outdoors, from hiking to snowboarding, but my true passion lies within the sport of field hockey. I have played for 13 years at various levels and have coached for 10 years. I have tutored all throughout my university career. Now working at Oxford Learning, I look forward to meeting you and your child.
I grew up in Montreal, QC and moved to Calgary three years ago for a change and new opportunities! Ever since, Oxford Learning has been a significant part of my life. I started as a French tutor while completing my BA in French. As a tutor since high school, I very much enjoy working with my colleagues and the wonderful families at Oxford Learning Centre.
I’ve been teaching for three years now. So, me in a nutshell, eh? Well, I’m a nerd at heart; I have a passion for reading—just about anything. Other than that, I enjoy traveling, jogging, and flavoured tea. Snow Patrol completes me. My pet peeves have to be ignorance, narrow-mindedness, and road rage. I’m a student of life and live it by Mahatma Gandhi's words “Be the change you want to see in the world.” :)
