We decided to send our son, Sawyer, to Oxford because he was struggling a bit in reading. He struggled to sound words out, to retain site words, and to read long passages, although his teacher had worked hard with him all year, as had we. After a few weeks at Oxford, Sawyer was reading better. He was taking the time to sound words out, and it was as if he had suddenly learned the skills he had somehow missed along the way. After attending Oxford for about 4 months, Sawyer is now reading at grade level. He is more confident with his reading, and he now willingly reads out loud. He is excited about reading again. We wanted to thank you and all your staff for the incredible compassion, ongoing support and friendship you have shown our family this year, as we have struggled with the way the school system has handled our son's education. Everyone he has worked with at your centre has surpassed our expectations, and we did not realize how much 'we would appreciate and need the friendships we have made this year to help us persevere through this year. We thank you for helping us bring our son's love of learning, intense curiosity, self confidence and compassionate nature back to the forefront of his personality. Thank you most of all for listening to us and believing in our son when the school system was giving up on him. We appreciate all the hard work you have done with him to help him develop his work ethic, appreciating him as a person, celebrating his successes and also supporting him through his failures. As well. helping us teach him that it is okay to make mistakes, as that is how we often learn the most. Soon after he started at Oxford, we was an incredible improvement in his focus and how he approaches the learning process, and this continues to improve. We are so thankful to have our talkative, imaginative son back that wants to learn and is even growing confidence in his writing, which he has always struggled with and tried his best to avoid. I would highly recommend Oxford Learning to anyone who is struggling in school. My daughter was behind three-grade levels and in a year and a half of going to Oxford Learning, she was able to catch up. Vanessa and Team, you are truly miracle workers.
