    Education Coordinator – Pickering:  Immediate Full-Time Opportunity

    Join our dynamic team of teachers and assume a shared leadership role to make a real difference in the lives of our students and their families every day.

    Working with your Education Coordinator partner, you will have the opportunity to:

    • learn the best practices in supplemental education and cognitive development
    • assess, program, teach, and evaluate students
    • work with children from elementary through high school
    • consult and communicate with parents, teachers and professionals
    • train, guide and motivate a dynamic team of teachers
    • manage the daily operations of a bustling Learning Centre and Virtual Table online
    • help kids build their skills, motivation & confidence and learn how to learn—so they can achieve their full potential in school

    As a successful Education Coordinator, you will work with your partner and the Centre Director to lead and manage the Centre. You will champion the Oxford Learning teaching philosophy and curriculum. You will train, manage & support the teaching staff to ensure the effective, quality delivery of our education services. You will communicate with prospective parents to inform them about Oxford Learning programs. You will administer Oxford Learning Dynamic Assessments, recommend goal-based programs and monitor & report students’ progress to parents. You will create a positive learning environment for our students and teachers at all times. Excellent training and ongoing support will be provided.

    Candidates for this position must possess all the following:

    • A university degree in Education, Child Studies or Psychology
    • Two or more years of teaching or tutoring experience
    • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency in French is a valued asset
    • Dynamic leadership, teamwork and motivational skills
    • Maturity, insight, initiative, creativity and persuasiveness
    • Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
    • Available 35-40 hr/wk including weekdays, two evenings & some Saturdays

    Oxford Learning Pickering is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable French teacher who enjoys working with students in Grades 1-8 French Immersion. Teachers in our Destination Français Program offer individualized instruction, guidance and support to students to improve their French academic skills (oral communication & comprehension, reading, writing and grammar), thinking skills, learning strategies, and study habits. This opportunity offers 6-12 hours of rewarding teaching experience per week. Excellent training, teaching material and ongoing support are provided.

    Candidates for this position must possess the following:

    • BA or BSc and a Bachelor of Education Degree (or candidate)
    • Teaching or tutoring experience
    • Passion for teaching and working with children
    • Excellent French oral & written communication skills  
    • Organization skills and multi-tasking abilities

Oxford Learning in Pickering is looking for a committed, reliable and enthusiastic math/science teacher/tutor who enjoys working with students in Grades 9-12. Our High School Advantage Program offers individualized instruction and support for students looking to improve their academic skills and study skills & habits.

    A good candidate for this position will possess the following:

    • Ability to effectively teach HS math and problem-solving skills
    • Relevant university degree (BMath, BSc, BEng, BEd) - OCT preferred
    • Math/Science teaching and/or tutoring experience
    • Good working knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 Math curriculum including Linear Algebra, Trig., Advanced Functions, Calculus & Data Management
    • Additional teaching strength in Physics, Chemistry and/or Biology an asset   

    Teaching Requirements:

    • Excellent English communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task 
    • Friendly, energetic and flexible personality
    • Highly organized, and able to think on your feet
    • Available 5-8 pm two weekdays regularly throughout the 2021/22 school year. Saturday mornings are also available.
