August & September News for Parents and Students

BEACH WEEK AT OXFORD LEARNING:

We are continuing to celebrate summer at Oxford Learning with our Beach Week! Students are invited to wear their favourite beachwear (goggles, snorkels, towels, etc.) during their scheduled Virtual Table™ or in-centre classes the week of August 10-13.  Let’s have some dress-up fun!

AUGUST VIRTUAL TABLES™ CLASSES and IN-CENTRE CLASSES:

We are grateful for your trust and positive feedback with the need to continue Virtual Tables™ this summer.  When surveyed, the majority of our families preferred online classes over in-person for August (but in-person for September!). We started in-centre classes for a few students recently and will continue to add staff and students to this schedule while following all safety and health protocols.

PLEASE LEAVE A GOOGLE REVIEW, OR LIKE US ON FACEBOOK:

Even as public spaces, events, and businesses start opening up, a trusted virtual option is still the only option for some. When navigating choices and trying to make decisions, ratings and reviews have become a crucial piece of information to consider.  Writing a review is quick and easy, and would mean so much to us. Please consider writing a Google review, liking us on Facebook, or you can visit our website to add a review there.

REMINDER OF LABOUR DAY CLOSURE:

There will be NO CLASSES on Monday, September 7, for the Labour Day holiday.

FALL SCHEDULE - SIGN UP NOW!:

We will resume after-school and Saturday in-centre sessions after Labour Day. In order to facilitate sanitizing and physical distancing our in-centre class start times will be adjusted and we will have fewer teaching tables. All spaces will be booked on a first-come-first-served basis. Please return the attached form to register for classes as soon as possible.

Our Virtual Table™ program will continue throughout the fall months on an extremely limited basis. To begin, we will be offering it two evenings a week and will assign times to those students interested. We welcome you to speak to your Education Director or Jocelyn about booking classes.  Depending on what happens within regular schools, more Virtual Table™ days and classes may be offered as needed.

What Parents & Students Are Saying

Oxford Learning provided me with the opportunity to learn higher level math to help me to prepare for first year engineering studies. This was an invaluable experience that will allow me to excel in my future academics. I recommend Oxford Learning to all high school students who need help with high school courses or want to solidify their fundamentals for post-secondary education. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and passionate, making it a perfect learning environment. Thank you! Brian

My daughter has been going to Oxford since the summer of last year (2014). She is in the Little Readers Program, which is for children 3 and up. Putting her in that program is the best decision I have ever made. It's so much different than a 'regular' preschool. She is going 2 mornings a week and she's been learning so much, from using scissors to recognizing all the consonants and now reading! The balance in learning and playing is great! And most importantly, she loves going there! I highly recommend it. Sincerely, Simone

I first became involved with Oxford Learning, Stoney Creek, when I put my older child in for summer Beyond Tutoring. In order to convince her to go, my little one did the Little Readers Program in the summer as well. That was 4 years ago. My eldest now attends tutoring throughout the year in the high school Advantage program and she even admits that she doesn't want to go without Oxford. Oxford Learning Stoney Creek is an excellent facility. The owners and staff are amazing and work so diligently with the kids. My children enjoy going. I have seen huge changes in my children with Oxford. Thank you so much! Natalie

I am very appreciative of the staff at Oxford and the support that they provide for my son. The regular 6-8 week meetings to get updates about his learning is wonderful. My son thrives on the positive praise and encouragement from his teachers at Oxford. The staff are knowledgable and answer the questions that I might have. They also value my input as well as his classroom teachers. The program is tailored to my son's needs and he has made many gains. I highly recommend Oxford Learning, Stoney Creek. Warm regards, Sara

I started my daughter at Oxford a few years ago in the En Français program and the difference is amazing. The teachers and owners are fantastic and my daughter never gives me a difficult time about attending her weekly sessions. I've also heard feedback from the teachers at her regular school about her improvement in reading and writing. My daughter is very confident and independent now with who she is and is very happy to have had the chance to attend the oxford Learning Centre in Stoney Creek. A sincere thanks for all the patience and making my daughter feel like she is worth the work. Sincerely, Denise

My daughter started coming here last summer (2014) and has continued through the school year and will be back for each summer. She absolutely LOVES coming here and never complains about it. I have noticed a huge difference since enrolling her. I would highly recommend Heather, Carolyne and their entire team!!! Many thanks, Lori

As we wrapped up 2017, our students were able to reflect on the goals they have achieved or are working toward. We are so pleased to see all of their hard work and success.
