Bonjour! Je m’appelle Emily, une enseignante de français pour Oxford Learning.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a passion for teaching and for working with children. I am inspired every day by the brilliant and amazing students that I work with and this pushes me to pass on my knowledge to as many people as I can.
My love for teaching began after a few years of competitive figure skating when the people who trained me inspired me to teach figure skating. After 14 years of competing and involving myself in synchronized skating and ice dance, I retired from competition and began teaching hockey and figure skating lessons. This was an eye-opening and amazing experience.
I always knew I wanted to be a primary school teacher, but as I got older I started to get more involved and realized how passionate I was about not only teaching but in observing students’ learning processes. After being in the French program throughout my schooling, I decided I wanted to teach French. I volunteered in French classrooms around my community and completed a Co-Operative Education program in a French Immersion classroom when I was in high school which helped me get a job with the school board! Now, I am completing my undergraduate degree at Lakehead University before I’m off to teacher’s college!
Au revoir, et bienvenue à Oxford Learning!
