Neil and Celine McMahon
Oxford Centre Owners
Read More
We are happy to introduce ourselves as the proud new owners of Oxford Learning Centre Aurora!
Celine has a passion for kids and teaching, working in education for the past 15 years. She holds a Masters degree in teaching, and currently works as an Occasional Teacher with the Toronto District School Board. When she is not working at the TDSB, she helps Neil manage his various business ventures.
Neil spent over a decade working in various roles on Bay Street, including as a licensed equity trader and Director of Compliance for a big six bank, before realizing sitting in an office all day was not going to be sustainable for him over the long term. In 2018, he took his passion for business and experience from Bay Street and made the leap to become an entrepreneur . With the help of Celine, they have opened several successful businesses including two freshii restaurants, and look forward to opening another Oxford Learning Centre in Newmarket in the near future.
They live in the GTA with their two small girls, Madison and Hailey, and their wonderful dog Gemma!

I obtained my undergraduate in Psychology from Webster University in Thailand (which is a study abroad program based in the US). Throughout my life, I was fortunate enough to travel to over 20 countries, where I was able to learn about different cultures other than my own. With the knowledge that was acquired, I can incorporate that into what I teach. I found my ‘second’ passion in teaching children when I started teaching Sunday school at my local church. From there, I was a teacher at a private school for over a year. Currently, I am working on receiving a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology from Walden University. With my knowledge, not only of how the brain works but of how different cultures and experiences can change us, I can incorporate that into my teaching.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I have taken a variety of math-based courses and understand how to best break down a problem to find a solution. Other than my background in business, I have a love for teaching. I enjoy creating a positive environment where students are able to think critically and realize their own academic goals. School has always been an important area of my life and I hope to be able to share my passion with others at Oxford!
