Must have experience in sales, marketing, and business development as well as possess superb communication and interpersonal skills. Sarah Fretz is the Centre Director. She has her undergrad degree from the University of Waterloo and she went to teachers College in New Zealand. She has been fortunate to teach in Europe, New Zealand and Canada. Sarah has always loved working with kids but her passion did not lie in a classroom. Oxford Learning gave her the best place to work with kids and make a difference. She loves spending time with her husband and a baby girl Brooklyn who is the most amazing part of her life. The three of them also have two cats and two dogs! Unfortunately that doesn’t leave a lot of time for reading for Sarah, but it is something she tries to make time for regularly. Her favourite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin.
Rana is the Education Director at Oxford Learning. She went to Wilfrid Laurier University for her Honours Bachelor degree and Nipissing University for Teachers College. Rana teaches High School Mathematics in Brantford and is also a part of the Waterloo Region District School Board. She loves meeting new students and seeing the progress they make here at Oxford Learning with their confidence, motivation and academics. Rana’s favourite books are the Harry Potter series. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, going to Blue Jays games and spending time with her family and friends.
Kaitlynn is our Education Coordinator. Kaitlynn teachers with Upper Grand DSB and specializes in Mathematics. She first moved to the Waterloo Region six years ago to study Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University. Afterwards, she moved to Australia for one year to complete her Education Degree and to learn about another part of the world. While abroad, she discovered her love of travelling, and visited many places throughout Australia and New Zealand! Aside from travelling, she also enjoy listening to and playing music. Kaitlynn plays multiple instruments including the flute, the piano, and the saxophone. She have a passion for learning new things and is excited to share my love of learning with students.
Christina has been an employee at Oxford Learning for 7 years. She started out at the Markham location and has now been teaching the READ ELITE Program here in Cambridge for 3 years. Mrs. O. obtained her Primary/Junior teaching qualifications from the University of Western and also has additional teaching qualifications in Kindergarten, Special Education, and Primary/Junior math. She became a teacher because she wanted to help young children learn how to read. In her spare time Mrs. O. enjoys singing, reading, and taking her dog Jax for walks. Mrs. O.'s favourite book is Still Alice and her favourite children's book is How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Her favourite movie is "The Notebook" but she also loves to watch holiday movies. Christmas and Halloween are her favourite time of year!
Kait has been with Oxford Learning for over 3 years, moving to our location 2 years ago. She is one of our Advantage teachers, focusing on English and also teaches our Beyond Students. Kait is also a teacher in the Waterloo Region and has a passion for working with students that have exceptionalities. She loves reading in her spare time, her favourite book is, To Kill a Mockingbird, and her favourite children’s author is Barbara Reed. Kait chooses to work at Oxford Learning, because she loves seeing students be successful, recognize their own potential and learn study skills to help them through their whole lives.
Lauren is a Oxford Learning teaching team. She has a keen interest in traveling and languages, sparked by her time spent living in the UK and adventures taken across Europe. Her teachable subjects are English, Social Science, and World Religions & Cultural Studies. Lauren’s favourite literature is To Kill A Mockingbird, and The Lion,The Witch, and the Wardrobe. She thoroughly enjoy downhill skiing, jazz music, superheros, parades, hot chocolate, bookshops, kite flying, and card making. Qualified as a Primary/Junior teacher and having worked as a Secondary teacher, Lauren looks forward to helping any student reach their goals through this learning journey. Carpe Diem!
Nicole is a teacher at Oxford Learning. She teaches our Beyond Tutoring and Advantage programs. She specializes in Science and Mathematics. As well as working for Oxford Learning she teaches in the Brantford school board where she enjoys teaching a variety of students. Nicole’s hobbies include spending time outdoors being active and spending time with friends and family. Her favourite series of books is Harry Potter. Nicole works at Oxford Learning because she wants to help students gain confidence and learn new strategies and knowledge to reach their goals.
Nicole O is a teacher here at Oxford Learning. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education. Her favourite subject is French, so she often work with our En Francais students at Oxford Learning. Nicole chose to work at Oxford Learning because it allows her to work with many different students and grade levels. On her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching sports, and baking! Nicole loves travelling and visiting new places, but her favourite destination is Portugal.
Laura-Ashley has graduated from the Education program at York University and specializes in French as a second language. She studied French and English at Glendon College while completing her International Bachelors of Arts. As part of her program, Laura-Ashley travelled abroad and had the opportunity to live in France for six months! During her travels, Laura-Ashley visited Spain, London, and Greece, Greece being her favourite for their beautiful beaches and delicious food. Additionally to her teaching, she loves coaching and participating in cheerleading. She was on the World Champion Cheer Sport Great Whites Sharks team in Cambridge. She loves being athletic and working to bring out a students/athletes fullest potential.
Jessica Elias is our Little Readers Teacher. Jessica teaches with WCDSB and teaches from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in various subject areas. She lived in Cambridge all her life and attended Wilfrid Laurier University in partnership with the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University in Brantford for the Concurrent Education program. She graduated in June 2016 with her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education Degrees. Prior to gaining her degrees, she had gained much teaching experiences through placements within various classrooms and teaching at local daycares and Montessori schools. Aside from teaching, Jessica enjoys reading, listening to music, spending time with her family and dog Mya. She has a passion for assisting students to achieve success through positivity, enthusiasm, and inspiration.
Jackie comes to Oxford Learning with 30+ years of teaching experience. She has taught preschool education as well as 25 years in Primary/Junior levels for the Waterloo Catholic School Board. Jackie retired from the Board a few years ago to pursue new interests. Since that time, she has volunteered for a few organizations and is part of the Accessibilities Dept. team at Conestoga College acting as a student proctor. She enjoys photography, exploring nature outdoors, music, the theatre, and reading books that uplift the human spirit. Her favourite children’s book is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day. Jackie believes that learning for life can be achieved when a student works in an environment that is encouraging, fun, creative, and requires committed effort from the whole team. She wants to help students build confidence as well as see the importance of making mistakes and turning them into life lessons.
Ray R is a teacher here at Oxford Learning. He obtained his Bachelor of Science from The University of Waterloo and his Bachelor of Education from The University of Western Ontario. Ray decided to become a teacher here at Oxford Learning to help students to build confidence in their abilities, so that they are not hesitant in any future goal setting. In his spare time, Ray enjoys hanging out with family and friends, and watching sports. His favourite sport is hockey and his favourite team is the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ray’s favourite books are the Harry Potter series, which he enjoys re-reading every year during the Christmas holidays.
