  • Education Coordinator

    Position Details


    We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is seeking a challenging and rewarding position with Oxford Learning Waterloo. The candidate must possess a strong passion for promoting student success and must be comfortable working closely with students ranging in age from preschool to high school. Candidates must have superb communication and interpersonal skills.

    In this position, you will work alongside the Education Director to coordinate the centre's daily operations from Monday to Friday between the hours of 1:00 pm and 8:00 pm as well as Saturday mornings between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.

    A successful Education Coordinator will complete the following duties:

    • Answering phone and email inquiries
    • Fulfilling daily and monthly administrative tasks
    • Learn to administer and interpret our dynamic cognitive and academic assessments
    • Designing academic programs for students
    • Teaching small groups
    • Creating a fun and energetic learning environment in our centre every day
    • Making connections with parents, students, and new clients
    • Efficiently maintain accurate records
    • Take responsibility for managing the centre, including supervision of employees when the directors are absent

    The candidate must have:

    • A completed university degree
    • Excellent command of the English language
    • Vibrant personality and enjoy interaction with young people
    • Cheerful and confident personality and strong ability to interact with parents and teachers
    • High ability of organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
    • Strong computer skills
    • Flexibility in scheduling
    • Be comfortable working with minimal supervision in an extremely fast-paced evening environment
    • Strong French language/additional language skills are an asset
    • Strong higher level math skills (e.g. calculus) are an asset

    This position would start in a teacher role before progressing into a coordinator role as more administrative duties are assigned. There is potential for the role to evolve into a full-time position and even into an Education Director role in the future. The interview is a multi-step process involving a phone interview, observation, in-person interview; as such it will take place over a few days depending on number of applicants.

    Part-time Math Teachers

    Oxford Learning Waterloo is looking for a few math teachers for a dynamic, fun teaching environment.

    Teacher requirements:
    • must be available a minimum of 3 evenings per week (starting at 3 pm ideally)
    • comfortable with high school math (grade 9-12)
    • background in high school sciences an asset
    • applicants do not have to possess a bachelor of education, but a university degree is a must. 3rd and 4th-year students accepted.
